How it works

Duplicate SKU Sync App helps to keep the stock levels of items having the same SKU in sync.

The app can help sync the duplicate SKUs in 2 ways:

A. Limited Sync

     Sync stock levels of duplicate SKUs when:

1. there is an order placed on Shopify.
2. there is a refund processed.
3. the item is restocked via the app dashboard.

B. Full Sync

     Sync stock levels of duplicate SKUs when:

1. there is an order placed on Shopify.
2. there is a refund processed.
3. the item is restocked via the app dashboard.
4. item stock is updated via Shopify admin or any other app.

Example -

Consider you have 3 products - product A, product B, and product C - all sharing the same SKU. Though the product listings are different, these 3 products are the same physical item internally. Hence, stock levels should also be the same. Assume the initial stock level of all the products to be 100 units.

1. Limited Sync

Let's say an order has been placed for product A for 10 units. Shopify will automatically decrease the inventory of products to 90 units.

The Duplicate SKU Sync app will then update product B and product C stock levels to 90 units within a minute. This ensures that the inventory of all the 3 products having the same SKU remains equal.

Note, that with limited sync, the app updates the inventory of duplicate SKUs only when an order is placed on Shopify. It does not update duplicate SKU inventory when the item stock is manually updated in Shopify or restocked via suppliers' transfers.

2. Full Sync

Full sync is a completely automated solution for keeping the duplicate SKU stocks in sync in real time. It supports syncing stock levels when inventory is manually updated via Shopify admin or it is restocked via transfers from suppliers.

Let's say product A, product B, and product C (having the same SKUs) are stocked at 100 units each. If you update product A to 90 units via Shopify admin, the app will sync product B and product C to 90 units within a minute. This helps save time and prevents overselling.

Notes:

• Our limit is 250 products per SKU
• The app can sync items distributed across multiple locations. To know more read here.

• The app does not yet support the New Inventory States (On Hand, Committed, etc) It only supports syncing the 'Available' inventory state.
